GERMANY-LOW COST HIGH QUALITY EDUCATION
Germany continues to lure international students due to its excellent learning environment. It ranks fourth after the USA, UK and Australia in terms of the number of candidates pouring onto its shores to study and later possibly work and settle down. The country offers high quality education at low cost in comparison to that offered by the UK and Australian Universities. In fact, Germany is unarguably the most popular non-Anglophone destination for overseas graduates, post-graduates, and post-doctoral studies for aspiring students from across the globe. Particularly, Indian students have shown keen interest in studying in Germany.
Germany is the largest and strongest economy in Europe, with the highest growth rate and GDP. In 2016, Germany recorded the highest trade surplus worth $310 Billion, making it the largest capital exporter globally. It is also one of the world’s largest car producers. Many of the Fortune 2000 companies have their headquarters here, the top being Volkswagen, BMW, Allianz, Bayeretc. Germany is in drastic need of computer, mechatronics and electrical engineers apart from mechanical engineers. Indian students are counted as among the brightest in these fields also due to their command on the English language. Along with technical personnel, they also require business graduates for the expanding multi-national corporations and service sector.
International students are permitted to work 120 full or 240 half days in a year. This way they manage to support the cost and earn back a decent part of their fee. The average salary per hour is $12 although many jobs pay between $20–30.A major attraction for all international students, Germany offers a post study visa of 1.5 years, which enables them to gain experience of the actual work culture, earn a decent living, find a permanent job, apply for Work permits and finally apply for a Residence Permit / Permanent Residence (PR) after 3 years. Learning German while they study and work better equips students for jobs in other German speaking countries like Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and several others in minority including Denmark, Hungary, Poland etc.
All German cities have at least one university among the top ranking ones in the world. These offer a socio-culturally rich amalgam of academics of international standard, vibrant and fulfilling life, and a chance of landing a job and settling down in a region that is the sole survivor of the large-scale economic mayhem being witnessed in Europe and elsewhere.
